Per the CSUSM Fraternity/Sorority Handbook: 

1.    Each academic year, colonies and chapters are required to hold three Educational Events that are at least 60 minutes in length on the following topical areas:

1.1.  Risk Management

1.2.  Health & Safety

1.3.   Personal & Identity Development.

 

These educational events must be reviewed by the Fraternity/Sorority Advisor a minimum of one week prior to the date of the educational event occurring using this form.

 

o   All chapters/colonies are encouraged to work with GLC, SLL, and other on- and off-campus entities to develop impactful educational events.

o   A minimum of 80% of the chapter must attend these educational event

o   However, each chapter is responsible for disseminating the information to all members.

o   Educational Events are tracked on an academic year basis

o   Attendance rosters and Proposal Forms must be submitted to Student Life & Leadership no later than May 31st.

 

One (1) Risk Management Educational Event

These should focus on policy review, member and officer responsibilities for managing risk, organizational policy/expectations, campus policy/expectations and national umbrella organization expectations and policies. 


One (1) Health & Safety Educational Event
These should primarily focus on education, prevention, intervention, etc. not

policies. Examples include: Alcohol, Body Image, Disordered Eating, Drugs, Hazing,

Mental Health, Rape, Self Defense, Sexual Assault, Sexual Harassment, and Sexual

Health. ***The mandatory Sexual Violence educational required for 100% of chapter members does not count and is an additional educational program expectation for all members.***


One (1) Personal & Identity Development Educational Event

These should primarily focus on education, self-evaluation/reflection, collaboration,

etc. Examples include: Ability, Culture, Femininity, Gender, Masculinity, Race,

Religion, Sexuality, and Socioeconomic status.

Learning Outcomes. (i.e. Members will learn how to respond to a crisis as outlined in the national board’s manual)
