Mediasite, Stream, YouTube, Vimeo and MP4 Video files can be captioned through our captioning service. Please share MP4 files via cloud storage. e.g. OneDrive or Google Drive.
MP3/M4A audio files can be sent out for transcripts.
If you need a Zoom recording captioned, please upload the video to YouTube or send us a link to download the .mp4 file.
Shared files, like Box, Dropbox, or Google Drive must be shared to "Anyone with the link," the files will be downloaded and sent for captioning so the caption company can access them.
Other weblinks need to be reviewed to see if we can get them captioned and do not fall in the standard turnaround time for captions. Please check to see if video is available on YouTube before submitting from another website.
Please Note: Microsoft OneDrive, Stream, and Sharepoint allows users to auto generate captions and text transcripts. Under the video settings select "Transcript and captions" and "Generate captions." Once completed the captions will be automatically available for the video, and can be edited under "Transcript." If the video is larger than 1GB please send to us for captioning.
We CANNOT caption streaming service videos (e.g. Amazon, Netflix, Hulu,) or sites that require a login.
If you have digital files that need captioning contact Media Production Services via email mps@csusm.edu.
Our caption service can caption (not translate for subtitles) in the following languages: English, Spanish, Mixed English/Spanish, French, and German. Captioning in a language other than English will increase turnaround time. After a caption request has been completed, there is an option for translation into Spanish, French, German, Italian, Portuguese, or Dutch.
Turnaround times can be affected by audio quality. Any issues during processing will delay the turnaround time.
If you need a DVD or VHS digitized, please contact the Media Library at x4370 or fill out their online request form at https://biblio.csusm.edu/external/course-reserves/media-faculty-reserve-form The CSUSM Media Library can caption only the content they digitize.
